Buffalo Sabres release full 2024-25 schedule

The season begins in Europe with the NHL Global Series, home opener on October 10th

There’s suddenly a lot of action in the world of hockey right now with the Stanley Cup Finals ending and a series of off-ice activities all happening in quick succession. Before things get quiet in the summer hockey doldrums though, one last piece of action was announced yesterday afternoon for us fans to sit and ruminate over for the next few months – the 2024-25 schedule.

Hopefully General Manager Kevyn Adams keeps working the phones in pursuit of difference-makers via free agency and the trade market, but for now it’s time to start circling key dates on the calendar for the year ahead.

Here are some highlights from the upcoming season –

NHL Global Series:

  • Friday, Oct. 4 vs. New Jersey (O2 Arena in Prague) at 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 5 at New Jersey (O2 Arena in Prague) at 10 a.m.

Home Opener:

  • Thursday, Oct. 10 vs. Los Angeles at 7 p.m.

Stanley Cup champions:

  • Saturday, Oct. 12 vs. Florida at 7 p.m.

California road trip: (aka #SabresAfterDark Pt1)

  • Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Los Angeles – 10:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 22 at Anaheim – 10 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 23 at San Jose – 8 p.m.

Thanksgiving Week:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 27 vs. Minnesota – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 29 vs. Vancouver – 3 p.m.

First visit from Utah:

  • Saturday, Dec. 7 vs. Utah at 1 p.m.

  • Monday, Jan. 20 at Seattle – 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 21 at Vancouver – 10 p.m.
