Here we go? Kevyn Adams is getting set to make some moves isn’t he?

The NHL insiders had been mentioning that the Buffalo Sabres are cooking up something, and now the first course has been served. No, it’s not that Jeff Skinner is being bought out, though the buyout might still happen, but it’s looking like a later course.

The Sabres have just announced that they have moved down from the 11th pick in this year’s NHL Entry Draft to 14th, and in the process gained the 42nd pick.

We have acquired the 14th and 42nd overall picks in the 2024 NHL Draft from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

It’s going to be back to the drawing boards for all you mock drafters now, with the Sabres now holding nine picks in the draft. I’d wager by bottom dollar we aren’t picking nine players this weekend.

Round 1, 14th overall (from PIT via SJS)
Round 2, 42nd (from NJD via SJS)
Round 2, 43rd
Round 3, 76th
Round 4, 108th
Round 4, 109th (from PHI)
Round 5, 161st (from FLA)
Round 6, 172nd
Round 7, 204th
